TRANSFORMING BEAUTY & HEALTH BELIEFS
Together for the first time: The Body Positive and Andrea's Voice

This event is open to the public and will kick off a two-day Body Positive leadership training (Feb 2-3, 2013) for the 5 Claremont Colleges on the Pitzer College campus. Co-Founder of Andrea's Voice Foundation, Doris Smeltzer, will share the story of her 19-year-old daughter Andrea, a Pitzer College student, who died after one year of eating disordered behaviors. Weaving her daughter's words throughout, epiphanies and vital information challenging cultural norms will be shared. Connie Sobczak, Co-Founder of The Body Positive, will inspire the audience to transform beliefs about beauty and health by bringing The Body Positive's work to life through storytelling, video, and interpersonal activities. Youth leaders from The Body Positive will also speak, offering their personal experiences embodying The Body Positive's Be Body Positive philosophy. This event is generously sponsored by:
