This Is Beauty™
Our 2012 year-end fundraising campaign brought in nearly $6,000 of the $7,000 we need to launch This Is Beauty™, our new social media campaign that will inspire people to re-envision their definition of beauty. Thanks to our generous donors, we are now gathering This Is Beauty™ stories to accompany our first video project with Jessica Diaz (watch video trailer above). Our goal is to have several This Is Beauty™ stories up on our website in February.
The stories included in This is Beauty™ will introduce the radical idea that it is possible to fully inhabit one's body and trust one's hungers and desires. The stories, told in video and other forms of artistic expression, will be a vision of what we know is possible--to experience beauty as the authentic, open-hearted, and vulnerable expression of oneself.
Our current fundraising goal is to raise the next $15,000 we need to pay for the editing of stories we receive from the public. With your support, people will be able to send in raw footage, photographs, audio stories, etc., and we can turn them into This Is Beauty™ videos. It is an exciting project that is already doing a lot to end body hatred! We're interested in your beauty story, too. Contact Connie Sobczak for submission details. We thank you for your generosity!
Be Body Positive Curriculum in Public Schools
We are writing grant proposals and raising private donations in order to donate the BodyTalk DVD for Teens to 100 public high schools in California. The video features students challenging the messages society promotes about weight, health, and beauty that cause so many young people to hate their bodies. With every donation of $75 or more (see below), a public school will receive a copy of our wonderful peer-to-peer educational tool that provides students with positive inspiration for improving their health and self-image.

- $500 and up: Be Body Positive introductory workshop attendance for you or someone of your choosing & all of the gifts listed above.
♥We are happy to donate your DVD gift to a school of your choice or send it to you so you can deliver it yourself! Email connie@thebodypositive.org with school information (name, contact person, and mailing address) if we are sending it for you. We do have a list of schools in need, and can make the choice for you.
