Leadership Development

Leadership DevelopmentMost companies carefully manage their key business processes, yet are less rigorous when it comes to people development. We believe that your most valuable assets are your leaders, and our goal is to ensure that you have a comprehensive system to help employees at all levels develop their leadership capability.

We are Master Consultants for Lominger's Leadership Architect®, a competency-based system developed from original research started at the Center for Creative Leadership. In use by over half of the Fortune 500, the Leadership Architect® tools can help you plan and manage the development of individual contributors, managers, and executives by following these guidelines:

1) Create role profiles that specifically define the competencies necessary for success at each work level. At each successive work level, decision authorities and accountabilities become more complex. You need distinct role profiles to capture these differences.

2) Evaluate leadership capability in terms of mental complexity. Executive leadership requires higher levels of critical thinking and problem solving. Thereby, these more complex roles require higher levels of cognitive capacity and mental capability.

While traditional assessment tools give us an idea of emotional maturity and leadership skills, they do not tell us if an individual's cognitive capacity matches the requirements of a role. We have tools to help you evaluate leadership capability.

3) Customize development for each level of work. We can help you structure development plans around specific experiences, challenges, and assignments that correspond to the unique challenges at each level of work.

4) Integrate non-traditional learning programs into the development process. Although certain skills can be learned in a classroom, leadership is developed through the integration of a number of practices such as the Leadership Dojo™ and e-simulations.

Leadership In Action™

Leadership in Action is a Friedman Group offering that takes learning outside of the traditional classroom environment. We simulate an environment where participants must deal with change, confront challenges, and move outside of their comfort zones by engaging people in physical activities and exercises. The goal of this program is to create leaders who know how to engender change in themselves, their teams, and their organizations.

Leader Talk™

Effective leaders communicate a vision, create meaning, and define a sense of purpose for their employees. The primary tool leadership uses to accomplish this work is skillful conversation.
